Being Vulnerable To Accept The Truth
The words “truth” and “vulnerable” are two words that, in today’s market, one needs to own.
TRUTH-firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something.
VULNERABLE-capable of being physically or emotionally wounded, (or) open to attack or damage : assailable.
As you read these two words and their meanings, did you ever think about putting them together? I mean, one is so freeing while the other, fuckin’ scary!!
And yet in today’s world of finding a new career, you have to be both.
You want the truth, and you must be vulnerable to accept it.
But, if you are given the truth the vulnerability stops, right?
I really wish I could say yes, but in these times, not so much.
For example, when you ask for feedback from an interview and they actually give it to you, do you want the truth and open yourself up to being vulnerable, or do you want them to skate by and just give you the fluff piece?
You want the truth so that you can learn from it, but since you asked for it, you were now emotionally wounded, assuming that they did not offer you the job.
So, what do you do about it? RUN, SCREAM, EAT ICE CREAM, DRINK YOURSELF INTO A TIZZY???? No, you embrace it. That’s right; the more you learn about yourself the more you learn about the person you are, the person you are striving to be and the more you can accept yourself for who you are.
Why am I sharing this? Because in my line of work I am truthful and I want my clients to be 100% vulnerable to accept it, challenge it, learn from it, and mostly, acknowledge their vision and direction.
If you are looking for your vision and direction, reach out to me. I will be truthful, helpful, and respectful.
