People are going back into the office (because they want to)
We are back in the office!
Some of you may not want to read this based on the subject, however, I feel it is important to point out a few facts that I have seen lately.
In the past few months, most of my consulting clients want back in the office. Some are good with hybrid, but most, back in the office.
Why? Because the idea of being on zoom or teams is enough. It is faster to get a simple, even a difficult question answered by just going to someone’s office and asking and going back to work. No waiting for an answer and not knowing, well, now what do I do? I don’t know how to move forward.
Or even yet, I can’t stare at my walls any longer. I need live interaction with a human! I want to have lunch with someone other than myself.
Heres’ the tricky part: Where do employers stand? One of the reasons why it is taking so long to get hired in today’s daunting world of employment is the employers do not know how to hire. They want or need to, but now comes the tricky part: In office, remote or hybrid?
If they would decide, you would get hired faster. At least this is my perspective. Decision making is hard, hiring is hard. Once you decide and stick with it though, everything gets easier.
Some of you may want to stay remote, and for all the reasons that work for you, you should.
But reality is coming, getting back to the office will happen; when is the question.
