How To Close Your Job Interview
Do you know how to close your interview? We read a lot about how to interview, questions to ask, questions to stay away from and questions that make you feel uncomfortable. But once you get through the interview what do you do at the end?
Do you tell them you are interested in the role? I hope so. But only if it is true!
Do you remind them of the value and purpose of what you will bring to the role and company? You better!
Do you know your adjectives that describe you? Please say yes!
Do you straight out tell them you want the job? Please do, if it is true!!
Do you bring up negative remarks about the interview? I sure as heck hope that you don’t!!
Stop asking what they don’t like about you. Stop asking anything that has a negative tone to the question. Why bring up a negative point? Makes no sense to me, at all!!
Interviewing is hard enough, yes? To close your interview:
Keep it fresh, keep it positive and reiterate what you bring to the company.
Remind them of who you are and why you would be a positive attribute to the company and role. You don’t have to go for a long time, in fact, please don’t. But you do have to be bold, and your tone must always be positive. You do have to be proud of the person you are and all that you stand for. You don’t have to be a bully, or a sarcastic individual, but you do have to remind them all that you are, all your experience, all your education, (if you have one, and you don’t for most roles) all of you!
Bring yourself to the table! You got this far, which is a journey these days, so don’t forget to close the interview. Bring all you have!! Don’t disappoint yourself😊.
