Job Post to Job Offer: The Timeline Is Too Long

For 377 months I have been a Recruiter and Career Consultant in one way or another. (I’ll let you all do the math😊). I have watched employers make wise decisions and bad decisions. I have helped many, many, many people find their career.

I have been through 4 recessions, 1 pandemic, and now this. Not sure what to call what we are facing right now, but it is a bit discerning to me. Our unemployment rate is still under 4%, employers are still hiring---stop, pause-are they?

We see a numerous amounts of roles open right now and a numerous amount of people applying to these roles, and yet--- why are the employers not hiring???

No clue on my end. For the most part, I am convinced that they forgot how to hire, they are scared to hire, and they want to make sure they find the perfect hire. (side note, no such thing as anything perfect)

To be direct and to the point, well, because, those who know me, know that is how I work.

GET OFF YOUR TOOSH AND HIRE PEOPLE!!!

Stop waiting. Stop having 5-8 rounds of interviews for gosh sake. Let’s get these amazing people hired. They have put in the work, the man hours, the education, the thought process and anything else they can do to showcase how good they are.

With everything going on right now, and yes, a lot is happening right now, can we get to the happy ending??

Can you imagine? Happy people excited to go to work. Happy people doing great things at your company and making you more money because your employees actually love what they are doing.

All it takes are these 3 words: YOU ARE HIRED!

So, to all the companies that are hiring, I ask this of you:

  1. ADVERTISE YOUR ROLE,

  2. INTERVIEW THE TOP 5,

  3. HIRE THE ONE THAT SHOWS YOU THEIR BEST VALUE AND MOVE ON!

As a Professional Recruiter and Career Consultant, I thank you.
