Have A Purpose When Submitting Your Resume
Do you have a purpose when you send out your resume?
So many post on how to look for a job these days. So many of you are looking. So many of you are confused on how to approach looking for a new role. Regardless if you got laid off, you left on your own, you moved, or more. I don’t have all the answers, never will, that would be to boring. But what I can share with you is this:
It sucks!!! It is hard, it is confusing, and you feel lost most of the time. But guess what? Employers feel the same thing. What? No they don’t, what you are saying. But unfortunately they are. Most employers are just as lost as you are in this crazy world. Should they hire entry level, mid or senior? Do they require you to work in the office full time, remote or hybrid? What is best for their company? If they knew, hiring would be faster, more efficient, and easier.
Guess what? No one has the answers. How do you overcome such absurdness? You don’t. But you can accept it. I know, easier said than done, right? Yes, right.
All you can do is put your best resume forward. Here is the clincher though; don’t send your resume out for the sake of it, make sure you send it out with purpose. That’s right, you read it here first. Without purpose you are wasting your time. I will teach you how to write your own job description. You would be amazed at how that can help you in your job search. Heck, employers should write their own job descriptions too, but they use HR for that, unfortunately. I can’t educate you all, but for those that want the help, the education on how to make your life a bit easier, just let me know.
Looking for a new career does not have to be a full-time job. It doesn’t even have to be that hard. So stop making it harder than it is. Have a method, use your voice, but mostly, make it purposeful.
