#BreakTheBias
Imagine a gender equal world.
A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination.
A world that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive.
A world where difference is valued and celebrated.
Together we can forge women's equality.
Collectively we can all #BreakTheBias.
Time changes, moves us forward, so we would hope. As I write this, not so sure right now. But I am hopeful that we will get back on track and evolve and not turn back. The theme for International Women’s Day is a theme that should be carried out, always. Not just for the day, but for life. We have grown as individuals and as a village. Women today unite, collaborate, trust, and listen to each other. Can this be an everyday and not just a day?
As a girl growing up, I didn’t see any difference, just what I was taught and saw. As a woman, I see more, hear more, and want to make a difference. I have learned to use my voice when I should, learned to embrace other women for who they are as a person and mostly, I have learned to respect women. Sounds strange to read that as a woman, I finally respect other women. But when I was growing up, most of the time other women scared me. Now that I am a bit more mature, so I hope, I get to understand women. Listen to them and hear what they have to say, every day. Not just one day a year.
Imagine, every day, where a human can be a human and not discriminated for being a human.
