What a day in my life looks like after 5 years running MASTOR Recruiting & Career Consulting

I rise and shine in sunshine, rain or even snow.

My days are spent communicating with people; let it be an interview, consulting on a career strategy, or with an employer helping them navigate through the hiring process. Since 2020, most has been on zoom, at times, I do get to meet individuals and companies in person, thankfully. (Fully vaccinated and ready to meet anyone right now).

If I had to break it down my corporate clients are looking to add top talent to their organizations. I give them the realistic options & scenarios that they should expect. Once they share with me what they want, need and hope for, I TELL them how I work. I am a Reverse Recruiter when it comes to my employers, which means that I work for the applicant, not my clients (the employer). I make sure the applicants are happy, that is my responsibility because in turn, they will make my client happy.

Sounds simple enough, but the majority of recruiters do not share my take on recruiting, and for that, I am sad.

As to the individuals that seek my guidance regarding any career help? Well, I listen with intent to what they need help with and work with them based on their individual needs and wants. I do not write resumes, don’t believe in it. I do guide them and allow them to use their words, their values and purpose on their resume. And in return, when they are ready to interview, they know what to look for, how to look for the role and how to interview for the role. And an extra add-on, if I do have a role that fits them, bonus to all parties involved!!!

My “Pay it forward” goes to the Military: Veterans, transitioning and spouses. I feel it is my duty to help those that have helped us. I give my time, guidance, and opinions when they ask. I help them with their resumes, make them purposeful to be considered in the civilian world. 10 years so far and will not stop. (How do you pay it forward?)

I do a lot. I love what I do. When people ask me what I do, I tell them that I tell people what to do. But now that you know what I do and how I do it, it makes sense, right? (And I am very nice about it, most of the time!)

My reputation is all I have to stay successful, and it means everything to me. I am direct, honest and allow all my clients to see both sides of the coin. I am a Pro/Con person. You can’t decide till you have all the information.

The pictures you see here were taken by my son when he came out to visit in January, 2022. He decided to take pictures of his mom while she was on a consulting call. From those pictures I learned a bit about me. You see, I cover up my picture on zoom and put my notes there to type and see my clients. I learned that I scowl a bit when I get excited and try to share with them what I am saying. I use my hands when I speak, that I have been doing for years. I blame tennis, sign language and my Hungarian and Russian up bringing. (thanks to both of my Nanas).

So, regardless of my day, I always learn, reflect, and share all that I can. I don’t treat anyone differently, but I do treat them in the manner they need and deserve.

I support 3 three words: Value, Purpose and Why. If you don’t know your value, purpose, or why, allow me to help you find them.

What do you stand by? Do you like what you do? What does your day in your life look like?
