Should you take a class to get hired faster?

Well, I did it again. I watched an 80-minute webinar given by an expert in their field to see if I could learn something new or different given these times we are in. I did learn something new!! Phewww. But not a lot. What I did learn was that I am doing it all correctly, my method is solid and, and, and, I don’t charge nearly enough!!

Of course, after the webinar you knew they were going to try to sell you something, of course! And they did. The amount of the normal price to the price they cut down to the price they offered only the people that attended this seminar was just bad selling techniques, (in my opinion, that is).

Throughout the presentation I felt a bit belittled. This seminar focus was for the 40 and older crowd and I felt as if they didn’t really understand their audience. They also read line by line a few of the recommendations they have received. They were very nice, but heck, I have a bunch too, but you never hear me spouting them off to my clients.

The biggest contradiction: The webinar was all about getting hired faster in today’s world. Heck ya, I’m all for that, who isn’t? The rub? Their seminar and classes are at least 6 weeks long!!!

So, after you take all these classes and seminars you will find a job faster. Really??

Now I respect my colleagues, I respect people too, but don’t try to sell me something that will help me land a job faster and make me pay for a 6-week course. I just don’t see it. What am I missing?

Looking forward to your input.

If you have any questions, what if’s or want to know what I do, how I do it and why I do what I do, hit me up.
