Ten Questions to Consider Before Posting a Job
These ten simple yet particularly important questions should always be in front of you when you’re considering hiring a new person for your company. Yes, there are more, but these are the most important to get you started.
To all the companies that are hiring right now, regardless from where, let me ask you a few questions.
Do you have your wants, needs, skills, personality, and culture fit all laid out?
Do you have relevant interview questions?
Do you have the team of interviewers lined up and do they know how to conduct a great interview?
Did you look for qualified candidates in your company to see if you can hire within first?
Did you ask everyone who may be a good fit if they would be interested (rather than assume they would be coming to you)?
When you find the right person are you ready to provide an accurate, relevant, time-bound, and success-driven onboarding plan for them?
Will you make sure to give a brief reason on why you are passing on someone and not leave them to guess?
Will you make sure to move quickly when you find the right person and not just think they will be around waiting for you?
Do you know why you are hiring someone to fill that particular role?
Will you hire or are you just browsing?
If you think you’re ready to hire, reach out to me for a free consultation to be 100% confident that you’re making the right decision. Maybe you need to fill a different role first? Maybe you need to consider the time, effort, and energy that hiring places on the people in your organization. Do they have the bandwidth?
